Notes

1. VAT is payable in addition to  our costs.

2. The fixed fee scheme requires you to provide reasonable instructions in a reasonable and timely manner.  We may withdraw the scheme if this is not the case.  We promise to offer the same high level of service to all our clients, whether or not they are paying a fixed fee.

3. If the proceedings become unexpectedly complicated (including the issue of separate court applications in addition to the usual ancillary relief process), we reserve the right to charge for this extra work on a time spent basis.

4. Fixed fees are available for cases where the total assets are worth £750,000 or less.

5. If we need to invove outside experts, their fees will be charged in addition to the above fixed fee.  For example, we may need advice from accountants, pension experts, surveyors, or barristers.

6. The fixed fees do not include representation at court hearings.  We can either arrange for a barrister to represent you, at a likely charge of between £750 and £2,000 plus vat, depending on the hearing. Alternatively we can represent you and we can discuss our fees for this work at the time.  The fees are likely to range from £500 to £1,200.

7. The fees for each stage are payable in two parts.  50% is payable at the start of each stage and 50% at the end of each stage.

8. Fixed fees are not suitable for everyone.  We will discuss them with you carefully before going ahead.  We reserve the right to refuse to offer fixed fees.
