We are really pleased to have strengthened our team with the appointment of solicitor and collaborative lawyer, Lucy Steele. The expansion takes bbl’s talented team to five qualified lawyers, the largest family team in the region. Lucy is considered an ‘associate to watch’ by the latest Chambers and Partners guide to the profession and has a wealth of experience of all family law issues including cases with an international element from her years working at a boutique practice in Cheshire. She joins from Norwich based Howes Percvial where she helped to grow the family department.
Lucy is able to advise on all family law issues with particular emphasis on financial implications of relationship breakdown. Lucy also has considerable experience of dealing with cases concerning children covering issues of where and with whom a child should live, child relocation, parental responsibility and child maintenance. As Chair of the local Resolution group (a national organisation which represents over 6,500 family lawyers and other professionals) and a trained collaborative lawyer, she is dedicated to resolving disputes in a constructive and pro-active manner.
One of bbl’s founding partners, Beverley Long, commented: ‘I am delighted to welcome Lucy to the team. Having carved a strong reputation in the region for our family and mediation services, we felt that the time was right to expand to meet increasing demand and Lucy will be a perfect complement to our dedicated team. She is highly regarded for her pragmatic and sensitive approach to resolving family law issues and is a valuable addition to the firm.”
